The convenience ot the travelling; public so far as it extends to the use of public roads is a matter that does not seem to give much concern to the Roads and Bridges Department, or ai least its local representative. If not. we are at a loss to understand why thr Tomingley Road, over which there it a constant daily stream of vehiculai Traffic comes infor little or no considera tion. We believe we are safe in saying that it is some years since auy money was spent upon the road proper ; that i*s, the road commencing at the end of O'Neill's lane, and goiug southwards. The money that was spent was a trifle to clear a track sufficiently wide to iidmit of one vehicle having a. safe pas sage through the timber, and then only t'or two or three miles. Luckily for users of this road we have had dry seasons for some years past, but let one or two wet seasons come along and the road would be absolutely a quagmire, and unfit for traffic of the lightest description.
