UPPER ORARA NEWS. [Newspaper Article] — The Raleigh Sun — 10 June 1898

UPPER ORARA NEWSi Our correspondem, -under date 0, writou aa follows: — - Now that the' great federation war is over, '.mid' the' meeting of Parliament is so near, a^ well as the general election, I wonder if our Progress Association has the time to spare to sec that- something is done to some of the roads here. There are patches of the road from Coff's Harbor jetty to Mrs. McCann's corner so bail that it reminds one of days when no such association existed ; in ? fact some parts of the road are almost im passable, and would be- the bettor of being metalled, or at least, covered with river gravel, which ought not to cost very much, for if this rain continues it will be next to impossible for our farmers to get their maize and oilier produce to the steamer. This wet season reminds me of some sports advertised in Tub Kai.eigh Sun before Christmas, when the secretary said tine weather had been ordered. If that gentleman has the power to order fine weather, the- Oraraitcs Would be;very'...
