PERSONAL ITEMS. Mr. J. P. Donald, of Dartmoor, lias been appointed an honorary magist rate. ",J. P." Donald sounds all right. He will be able to put the letters on both sides of his name, something which not many can do. The life of the late Mr. W. Moodie was made tho subject of some re marks at • St. Andrew's Church yesterday morning by the Rev. J. Alexander. After giving an interest ing exposition from the text, " There is now, therefore, no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus," the preacher referred -to Mr. Moodie's I early days in the district, and his/, subsequent assistance to the church. Lieutenant Fraser, of Ballarat, has been appointed area officer for the Hamilton district. The death took place at Casterton on Saturday of Mr. M'Ewan, formerly engineer'of the Grlenelg Shire, de ceased had been a strong athlete, but he died at a comparatively early age.
