RABBITS. * Rabbits belong to the family heporidm. members f the Rodentia or Gnawing Order of animals' Their form and appearance are too well known to require any special description. In a wild state, rabbits ivc in holes in the earth ; and where the proprietor UTthits, of 'their accumulation for sport, they collect jr great numbers, undermining with their burrow* jrfiole plains or tracts of land, and forming what are failed ttarrem. Their amazing fecundity renders lie keeping of a few' of them in a tame state an object of some consequence in cottage economy. The rabbit litters seven times in the year, and generally produces eight young at a time. At the ago of five months the animal begins to breed; anil taking an estimate perfectly within bounds, it is Supposed that a pair of wild rabbits, which breed no oftencr than seven times in a year, would multiply in course of four years to the amazing amount of a ifittion and a quarter, if the young were preserved. CROWN LANDS'' SALE. A sale of town lots of land, situated in the parish of Chuwur, North Ipswich, being the second batch offered to public competition in that part of the town, took place at the Police Office on Thursday, the 11th instant. There were very few buyers, and   the bidding, except for the best allotments, was not spirited.
