No Title [Newspaper Article] — The North Eastern Ensign — 8 October 1872

A melancholy and fatal accident happened at Wallan Wallan on Friday last, whereby a fine boy of 20 moths old, son of Mr Thomas Smyth, met his death, It seems that the boy had gone into a small paddock where a mare and foal, a recent purchase of Mr Smyth's were grazing, and received a kick from the mare which drove in a portion of his forehead. Dr Brock was sent   for, and was in attendance as quickly as possible.     but all his skillful efforts were unavailing to save   life. The poor boy lingered on until Monday   morning when he expired What renders the sad   event even more distressing is the fact that   about an hour before the acccident happened Mr   Smyth had started for Melbourne; he was     instantly telegraphed for, and was back in his       own house by 3 o'clock in the afternoou.-Kilmore Guardian. &am...

Firstly, the p meaning of educatiotifor learning, the comrn mon , nglish branches onmprehends that w children who attendths public schools have not to pay any fees. 'There are eases of poor c, men who have often more children than the rich ones who are not able, topay schoolfees, 'nd poseeess' tli pride not to apply for free education from the ovonrrnent. These children are lest for want of education. Therefore it is necessary to place them all alike, iand put up a school tax :aecordindt to property. The rich who have no children can end must pay more for the education of the children of this country thanl the! poor parents who havefive. or six children.liable - to go to school. THE Publidec on uesdays and Fridays. 'F?RIDAY,. QCTOBER 11, 1872. IT would seem that the subject of marriage with ., deceased. wife's sister is occupying particularly the attention of the Presbyterian plorghy. eThr Rev. Mr..
