Police News. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 14, 1838. Before Mr. Windeyer. Donald Reynolds was charged by Constable Green with assaulting him in the streets. From the evi- dence of Green it appeared that about 11 o'clock on the preceding night the prisoner accosted him and asked him who he was? and on Green's saying that he was a constable, he replied yon be d- d, you are a public robber; yon fellows instead of protect- ing the people, are the very ones that rob them. I would thrash a dozen of you. This polite remark he accompanied with a blow on the prosecutor's main feature which made him kiss the earth. Sen- tenced three hours in the Stocks. Elizabeth Scores was charged by her husband with throwing stones at him and his children, and other violence.
