IVANHOE REDD, ROSS SOCIETY. In our last reports of the above itivas noted that a falling off in the work had occurred, attributable to the.. holidlay season. Since then an improvement has taklen place, but there is need for more. The society, as one means to that end, has decided to resume holding work par ties inu the Ivanhoc hall on Tuesday every week. In connection with these work parties, and for the use of workers whlo can spare time on other occasions, the society is desirous of obtaining the use of one or more sewing machines on continuois loan. TENNIS MATCH. The.members of the Ivanhoe Recrea tion Association Tennis Club played a match against the Thornbury Church of' England Club on the Ivanhoe courts on' SAturday last. The visitors were not represented by their full strength, but brought a fair contingent of enthusiastic players, while Ivanhoe had a strong team of men available, but not enough ladies to make up the necessary sets. -Despite the trying weather conditions some well contested ganies were played, and victory rested with Ivanhoe by 6 sets 76 games to 2 sets 55 games. Mr Rose, who cap tained. the visitors, expressed the plea sure the visit gave the Thorubury club, and invited the local members to play a return match a t Thornbury at an early date.
