DEPUTATION TO GOVERNMENT. A deputation waited on the Minister of Agriculture (Hon. T. Butterfleld) on Wednesday, February. 1C, request ing that the present meat inspector at Mount Barker should be appointed an inspector under the Stock Diseases Act, and that he should be provided with facilities to perform those duties. The speakers were Mesesrs. J. H. Hay (President of the Southern ■ Stockowners' Association), W. t,. Mc- | Donald, C. E. Birks, and E. H. D. Virgo (secretary of the South Aus tralian Stockowners' Association). They were introduced by Messrs. Hudd and Heggaton. M's.P.
