MR. EDWARD BARTON. • On Saturday morning, Mr Edward Barton, a member of the firm of Messrs Donovan and Barton, of Picola, died at his brother-in-law's residence, Numurkah. Mr. Barton who had been unwell for a few days had a bad turn on Friday, and his wife decided to take him to Nu murkah to be close to medical atten dance. He was seen at Nathalia railway station by Dr. Keyes as he passed through. The case was very serious; however, arid he did not live long after reaching Numurkah. He leaves a widow ana twachil ren to mourn their loss. The remiins were co veyed to Euroa for inter ment.

Pye, principle, snbmitt''d the following report for the month of April to the chairman and mem bers of the Council of Agricultural Education for consideration. There was a" welcome change in the weather from the 19th to 20th of the month, when a little over an inch and a half of rain fell. The total rainfall was 1.75 inches. Although not sufficient to bring on a rapid growtd of the pastures, still in those ■ paddocks where there was a good sole of old grass there is a good deal of grass coming through. As the ewes are lambing, the bite of young grass with the old will ensure a steady development ol the flocks.
