Current Literature [Newspaper Article] — Farm, Field, and Fireside — 4 January 1896

Current Literature THE MINTJTB MAN ON THB FRONTIER . By the Rev . William G . Puddefoot . One Vol ., Illustrated , 12 mo , doth ; $ 1 . 25 . New York and Boston : T . Y . Crowell & Co . THE illustrations , embracing frontier scenes in Michigan lumber towns , Indian camps , Pueblo houses and , above all , the Minute Mans Parsonage , are full of suggestiveness to the eye . But these narraions of experiences out of a human life , spent in scenes that must soon pass away forever , aw themselves rarer photographs and will be sought for to help the future historian to understand our times and our achievements . Mr . Puddefoot has an eye for the humorous and a faculty of depicting it This , no doubt , has often sustained him amid the trying and discouraging experiences through which he was called to pass . It has , also , enabled him to make these experiences interesting in his jnany public addresses in the great convocations that he was invited to attend and where he became a ...

Practical Housekeeping ~ Recipes for Cooking Kraut ALTHOUGH the great majority of people like sauerkraut yet comparatively few know but one method of cooking it , and that is to fry in meat fryings , and send it to the table hot , greasy and hard to digest , while in truth that is the poorest way in which it can be cooked .
