It still enjoys an Immense sale , while most of the preparations that have come into prominence in the earlier period of Its popularity have gone by the board and are never mors heard of . There must be some reason for this long-time popularity and that is to > be found in its superior merits , When once given a fair trial for weak stomach * or for liver and blood affections , its superior curative qualities are soon manifest ; hence it has survived and grown in popular favor , while scores of less meritorious articles have suddenly flashed into favor for a brief ...

BOYHOOD By E . Russell [Newspaper Article] — Farm Press — 1 January 1908

BOYHOOD By E . Russell OWN in the pasture the cranberries grow , Red , and shining and juicy ; Down in the pasture we two used to go Driving the cows in the morning , you know . I and the little girl Lucy . Bright were the mornings and golden her hair As the first sunlight danced on itDrifting like mist in the warm summer air ; Hiding the neck that was tinted and bare ; Falling astray from her bonnet . I to the maid was a leader of men , Proof against slander or malice . Good to our , minds was the summer world thenShe was but seven and I counted ten And wore a blue drilling gallus . Bare feet for both of us pressed the grass , wet . There where the sweet williams flowered ; Quickly we brushed back the spider s gray net Which as a guard in the night she had set Where the red cranberries cowered . Down in the pasture the cranberries gleam , Red and shining and juicy , And through the years that have gathered I seem Backward to drift on the wings of a -dream To the sweet little girl L...

FISH STREAMS By H . A . Franklin [Newspaper Article] — Farm Press — 1 January 1908

FISH STREAMS By H . A . Franklin There are a good * many streams throughout the country that may be stocked with fish and dammed to make a reservoir . The water held back makes a supply / for stock and if the stream is sufficient considerable water power may be developed . Where a stream may be dammed and used for three different purposes it is likely to pay well for the labor and expense involved . A fish fresh caught and cooked within an hour is a delicacy that city men often travel hundreds of miles to enjoy . I dont mean that $ 100 would buy all the machinery necessary , but $ 100 would build ...
