Mobile, Alabama, August 38,—The Mo bile Register kindly furnishes the following particulars of the disaster to the steamer "Ocean Wave": The steamer—a low-pressure boat—left this city Sunday morning with about 200 persons on board, for an excursion to Fish river, about twenty miles from the city. Various appeals have been taken to the Supreme Court of the Slate involving this question, hut a decision lias been evaded by the court until the present time. The .Court of Appeals is sitting in Staun ton, before which tliere is on tlie docket, one case, if not more, in which the Home stead question comes up flatly and plump ly, which case ought to be decided at this term. It is not the object of the writer to say how the case ought to be ruled, hut simply to express the opinion that it is of extreme importance to the peoplo of the State that the matter shall bo determined one way or the other, in order that there may bo some certainty as to the law on this point—both for tho benefit of debtors and creditors.
