MARCH 30 Give the People Light The last Democrat contained n ar ticfe trader the head of "The InTesttga ticg Committee and the Republicans," in which the editor attempts to saddle the lion's share of the stolen money of the State, noon the shoulders of the Re publicans. The cool impudence of the Democrat is only exceeded by that Messrs. Ed gerton and Morgan, the two Democratic members of the Investigating Commit tee. These men were appointed by the Democratic majority in the Legislature, wito arranged the Committee according te their pleaseure, appointing only one Republican, (Mr. Eeemelin,). The OIii State Journal has published letter from both Morgan and Edgerton, establishing beyond all question, by their own letters, the fact that they had been ware of Breslin's rascality for months before he was exposed. The details are rery similar to the first, and have therefore no special interest. . The development of the spirit of the ' U. S. District Court, and District Attor ney Belden, has the most attraction for the public. Several new phases cf their , pro alaverj affinities hare been exhibited. During the trial now in progress, the deputy Sheriff of Lorain County arrested ihe Kentucky Jeoning and his helper in the slave-catching business, on a charge of kidnapping, and at temped to take them to Lorain County for trial. The U- S. Court however, undertook the task of protecting the kidnappers from the jSute authorities, and pretended to bold them as witnesses under a warrant to compel them to testify in that Court.
