BY THE GOVERNOR Whereas, By the apportionment of Representatives in the House of Delegates, as fixed by the Constitution of Virginia, (adopted by the late Convention,), the counties of Alexandria and Accomac, and the city of Norfolk are entitled to one additional Delegate each in the lower house of the General Assembly. And whereas, it is deemed advisable by the Governor of this Commonwealth that the additional Delegates so provided shall be elected at the general election to be holden in said counties and city, on the fourth Thursday of May, instant; but it is not considered necessary that the notices required by law for special elections should be given in these cases. , Therefore, the sheriffs and all other officers holding elections at the various places of voting in said counties and city,, are hereby required to open a...

Y., but at present temporarily stationed in this city, has invented a safety valve regulator, which is destined soon to come into general use. The value of the invention is made plain by a mere glance at the contrivance.
