San Francisco Correspondence* [Newspaper Article] — Marysville Daily Appeal — 27 January 1860

San Francisco Correspondence* [From our own Correspondent.] SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 25,18C0. The subject of moving the State Capitol from Sacramento to San Francisco, or to some place in this neighborhood, is attracting a good deal of attention here. — I understand that many of our leading business men are moving in the matter, and that powerful inducements will be offered to the State, in the way of splendid and commodious edifices, for Legislative halls and other State offices. The preponderance of public sentiment scams to be in favor of.Oakland, for the ' seat of Government. In the event of the removal of the Capitol to Oakland, a company will be organized to place a line of first class ferry boats, between that point and this city. The city papers arc beginning to discuss the subject vigorously. A new and interesting feature is about being introduced in overland travel, between this city and St. Louis,. A distinguished and honored citizen of of this State, will leave on the steamer...

Sacramento Correipondonee, [Newspaper Article] — Marysville Daily Appeal — 27 January 1860

Sacramento Correipondonee, [From our own Correspondent.] SACRAMENTO, Jan. 25, 1860, EDITOR APPEAL: —The Senate to-day passed Assembly concurrent resolution concerning the re-establishment of daily mail communication between Miirvsville and Shasta. An act was passed to amend the act concerning courts of justice and Judicial officers. The Assembly bill to appropriate the sum of seven hundred and two dollars, being the expenses incurred on inauguration day, was passed in the Senate. The special order of the day for to-mor-row, in the Senate, is the bill to pay Judge Barbour for back salary as Judge of the Tenth Judicial District. I believe the bill will pass. The Judge is doing hut little work for it, and seems to rely principally upon the recommendation in its favor by the Board of Examiners, the Attorney General, and the Committee of the Senate on Claims. In the Assembly, Mr. Conness of El Dorado, offered a resolution which will elicit some information. His resolution requests the Go...
