Ross of Waco will be re-nominated for Governor. Victor Brocca an Italian engineer has completed the survey of a propo- sed canal across Italy from near Cas- tro on the Tyrrhenian Sea to Fano on the Adriatic. It will be 180 miles long if it is ever built and will cost $100000000. It is noted that while Gen. Hari- son has made eighty short speeches since his nomination he has not said a remarkable thing. The party has not had one single rallying sentence from him. He has not even uttered a solemn truism in a mighty way. J. B. Whherow a Pittsburg contrac- tor and engineer has closed a con- tract for the erection of an immense steel and iron plant at Sabinos Mex- ico.
