? . ? . THE ? '?KALGOORLIE MINER PUBLISHED DAILY. SATURDAY,' SEPTEMBER 21, .1895. The wonderful success of the Govern I ment s;ile of town lots yesterday was an indication of the confidence felt in the future of Kalgoorlie. Had any one as late as. three months- ng0 precucieci such a rush for freeholds as was experienced at this big sale he would have been regarded as a mad man and would not have i.een listened I to.1 Even the firmest believers i,, f.i1Q future of the place as the destined capital of the Coolgardie Goldtields were surprised at prices paid, but it is not too much to expect that with in a few months this memorable sale will be looked back upon as one of the I missed chances for securing cheap frontages.- The thirty-three quarter acre lots brought a1 total of £21,000, which is more than a similar number I of allotments realised in nnnl™,^;,, even in its palmy days. This is the more noticeable owing to the fact that none of the lots had frontages to Hannan-street, but we...

Steins of IHeros An impromptu social was held at Mr D. Reid's I.O.U. Hotel, on Thurs day evening, to welcome to the district Captains Begelhole and Truscott, and Mr R. Stewart; who are inspecting some of the mines of the district. A very jolly evening was spent, and several toasts were honored, while songs and stones helped to while away a few pleasant hours. In responding to the toast of his health Capt Begel hole stated that the richness and extent of miles of the district had sur prised him, and he congratulated Captain Truscott on having1 acquired some very valuable properties. The rumors which for so long have been floating around respecting the removal of the Warden are at length justified. On Saturday Mr Jephson received from the Minister of Mines an intimation that he had been gazetted Warden of the Yalgoo...

THE KALGOORLIE MINER. PUBLISHED DAILY. MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 1895. [Newspaper Article] — Kalgoorlie Miner — 23 September 1895

.? .' THE KALGOORLIE MINER . PUBLISHED DAILY. ' MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 1895. We may be pardoned for speaking ?twice or even thrice on any subject affecting the health of the community, 'ihe i-ummer is fast closing in on us, and with the solar heat registering a century or thereabouts p etty well doily, it becomes incumbent upon each individual to put into practice the best principles of sanitation.
