Deniliquin Police Court. Wednesdav, January j6. (Before the Police Magistrate, Messrs Tennant, Eames, and Perrin, J's.F. Thomas Kidd (Inspector of Nuisances) v. Mrs Barnes. Defendant was charged with allowing goats to stray in a public street, and was fined 7s 6d with 4.S 10s costs of court, in default 18 hours impri sonment. The line was paid. Same v. Mrs Buchanan. Allowing a cow to stray. A fine of 7s 6d with 4s lod costs was also imposed. Same v. Hugh Burns. Defendant was charged with driving a vehicle after sun down without a light. Magisterial Inquiry. In our issue of last week we men tioned that a man had been found dead on Boonoke Station by Mr T. W. Druitt. Sergeant Norris proceeded to the station, where a magisterial inquiry was held on Friday before Mr P. B. S. Falkiner, J.P. The following evidence was taken : — Henry Norris deposed : I am a sergeant of police stationed at Deniliquin. From in formation received on the 10th instant I proceeded to Boonoke Station, and on the 11th in company with Mr Druitt I went to a well known as the ' Sisters Well,' on Boonoke Station and there found the dead body of a man lying, under the whim. The body appeared to be that of a man about 40 years of age, five feet six or seven inches in height, sandy complexion and moustache, with only a short stubby beard on the chin, of about a week's growth, and dressed in a flannel shirt, white moleskin trousers, turned up to the knees, and a black sergerette vest, a blue cotton handkerchief around his neck, strap around his waist. In the early part of the market the demand was fairly sustained when prices for best descriptions ruled firm at late quotations. Competition, however, became weaker as sales pro cessed, and later in the day pnees ruieu decidedly lower. Presentation. — During the Court pro-1 ceedings on Wednesday a short interval was made for the presentation of an address to Mr F. W. Garstang. Dr Noyes, who made the presentation said: he had been requested by the resident of Dungog to present Mr Garstang with the address as a very slight token of the esteem in v/hich he was held by them. Dr Noyes said it gave him much pleasure in complying with the request. His short acquaintance with Mr Garstang war ranted all the address conveyed, and he was glad to have such a gentleman with them. Mr Garstang expressed thanks to Dr Noyes for his kind remarks and also to the residents of Dungog for their handsome presentation, and the proceedings terminated.
