FOOTBALL. MOOROOPNA V. TATURA. [Newspaper Article] — Kyabram Union — 16 July 1886

FOOTBALL. MOOItOOPNA V. TATURA. The above match was played on the ground of the former club on Saturday last,'and resulted in a victory for Taturn, who 'secured 4 goals' 8 behinds to 3 behinds secured by their opponents. This result was somewhat of a surprise to moat people who take an -interest in football in this district. Henderson, who 'captained the 'local team, won the toss fTrm Campbell, the Tatura captain, and 'elected to kick to the eastern goal. Theo ball, on being kicked 'off, was sent well into .Monrnopna territory, bnt was quickly returned, chiefly through the efforts of ,Quinlan, Rochardson, and Sparrow. who worked it well up to the Tatnra goal, where, however, it was not suffered to remain long, for the Tatura oncka with a rush brought the ba~ past the centre, and very soon the Mooronipns goal was in danger. Only a behind, however, was scored, and on being. kicked off by Henderson the ball was quickly paased forwardl on tile left wing, where Sparrow secured it, and ha...
