DEATH of the DUKE of ALBANY. LONDON, March 21. [Newspaper Article] — The Bowral Free Press — 5 April 1884

DEATH of the J)UICE of ALBANY. London, Unroll 21. His Royal Highness Princo Loopolil, Duko of Albany, died suddenly at Ctiunos to-day, aged 80. His health, though novor robust, had not been by any means sufficiently' im paired to ciuiHO particular alarm uutilho attended a ball at Cannes early in the week. This was followed by an illness at first ol" an unimportant charaoter, but which sud denly developed fatal symptoms within a few hours of his death. No mention what- , ever was mado of this illness, so tho blow has been especially sudden and unexpoctocl to hor Majesty tho Queen and tho other mombers ot tho Iioyal Family. Groat national sympathy is expressed with hor Majesty. The death of H.ll.H. tho Duke of Albany —which wo (JSeho) announce above—is as unexpected aB startling, for although the young Priuco was uot ono of thoso for whom old age might havo been confidently pre dicted, there was nothing in his condition to lead to expectation of this sudden decease. ffifec |iolur;il Jfrcc |prcss. Do fix adcersarics do in law, St rire mightily, I til cat ami drink a* friend*. SATURDAY, APJf.IL 5, 1881. Whj n some months ago we furnished our readers with an account of tho opening of a silo on the estate of Mr. B. L. Tooth, M. L. A., at Eriilge Park, near Bowral, and referred to the method then being ex perimented on of preserving green fodder, we expressed a hope that Mr. Tooth's ex ample would bo speedily followed by many formers in this district. The modus oper andi is so simple, and hence easily under stood, while the expense is stated to bo so small compared with the value of the crop when converted into ensilage, that the idea should need no weighty arguments to be driven right homo to tho minds of every farmer and grazier in tho country. The ruinous and almost unprecedontedly dry season through which tho colony is at pre sent passing should be a warning of suffi cient pungency to agriculturists in particu lar to make such preparation for th...
