Tho Prime Minister admitted yester day that the mall contractors had ex pressed their willingness to lodge an additional bond of £25,000, the bond not to be operative until the Victorian agreement had been approved by the State Parliament. The secretary of the Townsville Show (Mr. J. N. Parkes), draws the attention of exhibitors to the fact that their exhibits of cattle, sheep, poultry, pigeons, canaries, and dogs must be penned by 8 o'clock, and hall exhibits and vehicles by 9.30 on Tuesday morn- ing.   Mr. Frank Fraser received word by Monday's mail that a hide which he had recently sent to Brisbane brought the highest price paid there for some time (says the "Northern Planter"). The hide weighed 63lbs., and realises 1s 0½d. per lb., bringing the value to £3 4s 3¾d. By the Cooma on Saturday after- noon, George Boniface, a fine strap- ping young man, who injured his spine some time ago while diving in Picnic Bay, Magnetic Island, and who has since that time been a patient at the Townsville Hospital for treatment was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital, Sydney, by his mother and sister for special treatment.
