The Moderator's Visit to Eugowra. NEW PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH. The Rev. Robert Kay, M.A., visited Eugowra on Wednesday afternoon for the purpose of laying the foundation stone of the proposed new church there. There was an exceptionally large attendance re presentative of all denominations, The Newtown Pipe Biud was sn atten dance and played several appropriate tunes. The Rev. J. McDowell presided and conducted devotional exercises. He then called upon Mr. William Welsh to hand to the Moderator a trowel with the request that he should well and truly lay the foundation stone. The Moderator in his opening remarks thanked the executive for asking him to perform the ceremony. He then delivered an appropriate address at the close of which he declared the stone to be well and truly laid. An opportunity was then given to those present to lay contributions on the stone. Ancnt the cricket match played last Saturday between the South Forbes and Gunning teams our Gunning correspon dent writes:— The South Forties and Gunning Cricket Clubs met on the 30th ult. on the latter's ground, in the second round of the com petition. A splendid evenly contested and enjoyable game was the result. There was not a sign of a growl or grumble from start to finish, the umpire's decisions on every occasion being taken without a mur mur. A meeting of the committee of the above club took place on Tuesday night, when the start for the shooting of the competition for "Match Riflle " presented by Major McDonnell (Commonwealth Military Forces) was arranged. The con* ditions are as follows:—The competition to extend over a series of six individual shoots, viz:—Two shoots at 200 and 300 yards, two shoots at 500 and 600 yards, and two shoots at 300 and 600 yards.
