Important Minute by Mr. Copeland. The Minister for Lands (Sir, H. Copeland) issued last week the follow ing minute : — ' In considering the worlt of the department for the present year, 1 desire that the important question of auction sales should receive early and special attention, and with a view to avoid the de lay which occurred last year I have thought it expedient to give official instructions thus early in the year. 'In the present state of the country's finances, it will be desirable to effect sales during the yenr to the full limit of 200,000 acres. And with this object in view it will be necessary to bring forward for auction, including .town, suburban and country lands, not less than 500,000 acres.
