Blucher and his Pipe, Here, is an,incident of 1815, which the E _n glish journals are relating : , On _thw morning of the memorable battle, of Waterloo, Henneman had just handed his master (_plucber) a lighted pipe, when a cannon ball struck the ground close by, scattering earth and gravel in all directions, and causing the white charger on which Blucher was mounted. His wife paid back the debt by whipping the woman within an inch of her lifef A jolly party, truly. ' A window falling on the neck of a daughter of Mrs. Maxwell, at Cape Elizabeth, Mass., last Sunday, guillotined her—nearly severing the head* from the shoulders, killing her instantly. Judge Stephen Vail, of Morris, N. J?, died on the 26th ult. aged eighty-four.
