Wc make the following extracts from the report of the Kausns State Board of Agriculture for the inontli ending August 31, 1883: Of the eighty-one organized counties in the Slate, but ten rejiort a poor corn prospect this year. Thce ten counties arc all fittiatcd in the extreme western portion of the State, and have but a tlight acreage as compared with the remainder of our cultivated terri tory, the area planted in the section covered by these ten counties not being more than onc-twentieth of the whole. Of these counties, Kills and Sheridan report a total failure, while the remainder have produced a small yield.
