Tho fust caith was moved ontlio long talked of Entcrpriso canal last Monday by Jack Frooman, John Scailot and Mr. Stukoy, all ofSaflbrd. It seoms oflato thoro has been a growing desiro to com mence work on tho canal but ono seomed to w alt for anothor, but last Saturday tho abovo named gentlemen determined to wait no longer, and brigot and early Monday morninc thoy left Safford for tho intended head of tho canal. On reaching Solomonvillo thoy informed County Surveyor Logan of thoir intention, and ho accompanied thorn, stating that ho would remain on tho works until tho ditch is completed. Tho start was mado near tho head, and it is oxpected that by next Monday there will bo a large forco out. There need bo no further waiting now tho ice is broken and all who feel an intorcst in this canal should turnout. Tlusvalloy is capable of furnishing at least 500 men and tea...
