Flection returns reached Versailles very slowly, nothing very definite from many of the states as late as Thursday morning. Hetrst was beaten in New York, Hughes being elected by about 60, 000. The lieutenant governor on the Republican ticket is also probably elected. The Democrats claim the balance of the state ticket. Oklahoma went Democratic by a large majority, and tjicy will run things in the new state for a while. Missouri went Democratic by sev eral thousand on the state ticket, and elected twelve of the sixteen congress men, and the legislature is probably Democratic, which should mean U. S. Senator Folk. St. Louis went Republican, elect ing the entire ticket by good major ities. Harris, the Democratic caudidate for governor of Kansas, is possibly elected. The balance of the ticket is Republic...
