Monday, April 2, 1866 LOCAL INTELLIGENCE. Honors to the Dead.--On Saturday afternoon, the several old volunteer organizations of this city repared to the Norfolk and Petersburg railroad depot, as an escort of honor to the remains of the members of the Norfolk Light Artillery Blues. The Blues, in citizens dress, under command of Capt. Grandy, turned out in full force, as an escort to the hearses intended to convey the remains of their deceased brothers to the Court House, where they were to lay in state under a guard of honor until Sunday. The train arrived about 5 o'clock with the remains of Corporal R. M. Butler, killed at the Crater fight before Petersburg, July 30, 1864, aged 30; J. S. Sterrett, of Maryland, died June 14th, 1862, in Petersburg, aged 20; A. M. Watters, killed June 24th, 1864, at Reeve's Salient, near Petersburg, aged 20; W. C. Land, killed May 1st, 1863, at Chancellorsville, age 20; W. A. Wilkins, died August 7th, 1862, at the Ladies Hospital in Petersburg, of typ...
