("Fat*") LOV. ERY We learned from an observer that Sam Huston really put up a fight against Langston for the first quarter and then wilted but played well in spots. The game really be- ing better than the score of 35-0 would indicate. We personally saw ane of the best football games that it has ever been our pleas- ure at Eagle field between Texas and Cen- tenary. We feel that Centenary was gipped of a touchdown. The rules state that a touchdown is 3nade when any part of the ball rests on, over or above the goal line. • • • Centenary's great end, Geisler, icll across the goal line but some pfficial ruled that the ball be brought back to where the play- er's knee came in contact with the ground instead of measuring the '.forward progress of the ball. fRIDAY, N0VEJTBP7R n, inm. SAN ANTONIO REGISTER PACE THREE Sports and School News Gleanings From the Sports World ; It was our pleasure Saturday to lec one of the strongest defensive teams that it has ever been our pleasure to witness. Arkansas State held P. V. at least five times within the 15 yard line during the first half. In the third quarter, P. V. drove down to State's 11-yard line and would have been held again without an offside pen- alty that placed the ball on the one-yard line. P. V. then crossed up the defense with a single reverse and Powell crossed the goal-line untouched. In the fourth quarter Hulon Smith, P. V.'* quarter made a beautiful catch of a forward pass right down the middle and on the next play he circled his right end for about 18 ' yards. He simply outstepped ev- erybody and scored going away. This whole section is elated over JFiley's defeating Kentucky State >3-12. Kentucky last year disputed Wiley's claim to the National championship. This puts Sout...
