RENOVATING CLOTHING. [Newspaper Article] — The Wyalong Star and Temora and Barmedman Advertiser — 20 July 1894

REKOVATOTG CLOTHING. The first tiling to be done after the gar* ment is selected, is to .rip it carefully, pull out the threads, and then give each a pood shake and brushing. Seleot the pieces worth usin T and olean them thoroughly. Spread the material on olean table or ironing board. Use a piece of the same goods to with vifti ami? ofmlro wifh fliA nfl.1) of thfT material, never acrosi it. When .pressing the cleansed pieoes cover the board with blanket and sheet. Use a hot iron, and keep a piece of olean muslin between the iron and the goods. If the fabric is black use a piece of undressed cambric, otherwise the warm iron will give a rusty effect. Do not wring or squeeze fabric dry as that wrinkles it. For band sewing use old fashioned sewing silk. It does not fray so readily .as machine silk and hence is more durable.
