LOCAL FILM DRAWS RECORD HOUSE. The announcement that Miller Peake and his players were to sereen snapshots of his film now under pro duction and scenes of Mount Barker Day caused an extraordinary demand for seats in the Mount Barker Insti tute on Wednesday evening, prac tically the whole of the hall being booked up prior to the performance. Many could not gain admission, and it is long since such a record house was seen in Mount Barker.. Re hearsals have been in progress for some time at tbe location, and various humorous incideuts from the local film colony form quite a topic of con versation, thus publicity was not lack ing, and everyoue was anxious to see the budding movie stars doipg their stunts. Naturally, the work of the players is very much in the experi mental stage, without any pretence to outrival Tom Mix, but as the producer pointed out—"Wait till we j have had as much practice as Tom i Mix, then we will make him hop." The performers lack nothing in the way of keenness. ...
