Agricultural. The Harvest Club—Root Crops. At the second meeting of tlie Harvest Club the Lonur of entertainment were di vided twea root crops and J. S. Bagg of West Springfield. Iff rout husbandry was vnderjloud the raining of potatoes, turnips, carrots, parenips, onions and beets, either tor the sustenance of man cr the winter feeding of cattle. It was aaid that twenty five years ago very few root were raised in New England except putatoes, and that 300 bushels of turnips to the acre was then called large crop. Now not only the pro duct per acre has been increased, but here, as in Great Br. tain, roots exert an impor tant influence in advancing agriculture.
