Hayes, issued his proclamation for a tpecial election in the 10th District to fill the vacancy made by the death of Representative Hoag. It will be held on the 1st Mon day in ApriL On Saturday last, in Brooklyn N. Y., there was seized $2,000 in nickel five cent coins, connterfcit. The coins contained but one-fourth as much nickel as the srenuine. There is con siderable counterfeit five cent coin in this section. Many of them are noth ing but lead. It was evidently a sore stab to 8. S.
