The following exciting episodes ol In dian warfare upon Ohio soil are taken from notes left by Wm, P. Hughey, who recently died 'In Greenfield, Ohio, and who was the father of onr townsman, Mr. Martin Hnghey. The Hugheysand Records were closely connected, and played a daring part in the Indian fight ing which was necessary to prepare the way for the peaceful settlement of Ohio's fertile soil. Simon Kenton was at that period the leading spirit of the region of Northern Kentucky, where the Rec ords lived; and where the pursuits which frequently terminated In bloody battles upon the Ohio side, usually be gan. Ashton Gore and brother were calling on friends here on Sunday last. John Pnckctt, of Balnbridge, is talk Ing of starting a grocery in the room formerly occupied by Joseph Kelly as a saloon. Last Monday morning about 8 o'clock a disastrous explosion took place at Bragg'a tannery, resulting in a complete wreck of the main building or shop. It was a largo boiler from 30 to 32 feet in length. The shop was raised on posts, the yard being underneath. A large 'portion of the boiler was carried under the shop, knocking the posts away and letting the center of the shop, about 40 feet upper and lower stories,...
