ing him so severely that he died next day. Deceased was sitting under the tree conversing with several compan ions, but unlike the others he failed to run when the choppers gave the warning of danger. He probably supposed the tree about to fall and concluded to ascertain what direction it would take before beating a retreat. Mr. Bonrque was about 58 years of age, and leaves a lIrge family, con sisting of a wife and six or seven chil dren. He was much respected among his neighbors, and his violent death has caused much sorrow and regret. TimE OLD FOLKS' CONCERiT.-Tiih first of these unique entertainments occurred at the D. S. C. B. Hall last evening and was quite as successful as could have been anticipated. The attendance was good, the hall being comfortably filled with an apprecia tive and intelligent audience that en couraged the performers with frequent and hearty plaudits.
