Jim Volume 5. No. 9 Bid TAX GAIN IN QUAY COUNTY Increase m Assessment Over $146,000 BUT f EW DECREASES SHOWN Advances Shown in Most of Items Enumerated on Tax Rolls. At the present rate of progress the assessed valuation of taxable property in Quay county will ex ceed the million mark in 1908. A net increase is shown in the. total assessments this year over last of $146,718, or almost one-sixth of the valuation of all property re turned for taxation purposes in 1906. The total valuation of the taxable property in the county this year is placed at $989,741, which, minus the exemptions allowed to heads of families brings the amount actually subject to taxation down to $871,240. Increases are indicated in the various classifications with but few exceptions. ' No better proof that the county is developing into a farming section is needed than the enormous gain made in agricul tural lands.
