Eliot Coit Horticulturist Arizona Experiment Station From time immemorial the olive tree has been cultivated In countries border- ing on the Mediterranean sea. From tins region where it is native it has spread to other countries in various parts of the -world where the climatic t-onditious approximate those of its na- tive habitat. For 25 years or more olive trees have been grown -n southern Ari- zona and their state of health vigor and productiveness today proves that the climatic and soil conditions of the inland arid southwest are eminently suited to their culture.
