DEATH. [Newspaper Article] — The Raleigh Sun — 27 May 1898

DEATH On Wednesday last. Mrs. H. Bennett passed over to the great majority, leaving a husband and six little daughters to mourn their loss. For the past twelve months Mrs. Bennett's     health has been failing, and notwithstanding skilful medical attendance both here and in Sydney, the malady progressed until, it has claimed her for a victim. The funeral pro-   cession which passed through Bellingen yest- erday was a large one, and testified to the sympathy felt for the bereaved ones as well   as to the respect in which the deceased lady was held. The Rev. C. E. Burgess officiated   at the grave.

Many of our own familiar friends, in whom wo trusted, have lifted up their Iiands against our most cherished and our necessary rights, and it is for the voters, us responsible guardians of their own and their children's rights, to stem the tide of the existing danger in a strong mod erate course, which, while it preserves from danger the present efforts of the colony towards union, will also ensure that the Constitution that shall be sot lip in Australia and for Australia, shall be one which, in accordance with our ex isting government and the record of our race, is firmly founded upon man and man alone. We who are opposed to the Commonwealth Bill- base our opposition on this fact': That in framing...
