Excited at the Fire. A foreigner of the name of Wernans Kopp, waa presented before Mr. Gower, P. M , this morning, charged with having used obscene language to Constable Jackson on Saturday night, and also with having assaulted that officer while in the; execution of his duty. The case of assault was first heard, and Constable Jackson stated that while he was engaged at the fire on Saturday night keeping the crowd back to as to give the firemen room for their work, ! Ige had occasion to order the accused off the roof of the house adjoining the burning building. Accused did not comply, but taking up a bucket of water, dashed the contents over witness. As accused was making off Constable Paul stopped him and he was then arrested. The latter officer corroborated this statement. Constable Jackson then deposed that while accused was being taken to the police station he used very bad language and was very obstreperous.
