ESSAY ON VALUE OF AGRICULTURE AND DAIRYING. "God made the country, and man made the town." [Newspaper Article] — Chronicle and North Coast Advertiser — 6 November 1903

ESSAY ON VALUE OF AGRICULTURE A KD DAIRYING. Kv 'Cynthia.' 'Cod made the country, and man made the town.' 1 he advantages of agricul ture, horticulture, and dairying! are. so manifest in a productive country such as is the greater part of Queensland, that many have of late been induced to engage in these remunerative occupations. Wherever the scrubs and forest lands have heen cleared by the timber getters, and, principally, along the fertile banks of our numer ous rivers and streams, there the farmers are found. Wheat, maize, potatoes, and sugarcane are the staple crops, and these can be supplemented by the growth of fruit and vegetables. Besides, the cost of living is reduced to a mini mum 011 farms, where all the necessaries of life and many of the luxuries may be produced at will. Hitherto the great desiddratum of the farmers wa...
