' 'When hanging curtains if you have no bodkin at hand (and bodkins do seem to have wings or feet), try a safety pin. This, you will find, will slip through the curtains quite easily and makes a good substitute. To remove stains from knife hand ; les, rub with emery powder, then wash off . with warm water. Verdigris and stains may easily be removed from brass and copper if rubbed with vinegar and salt. One ounce of butter and half an ounce of flour will thicken one cup ful of liquid m making sauces.
