ACCIDENT .ON THE AVHA'HF. Some excitement was caused on the . Adelaide Company's wharf yesterday afternoon by the sudden bursting ci : a cylinder of ammonia, duo no doubt to the intense heat. The force of the explosion can bo gauged by the fact that the cylinder was standing near thc edge of the wharf and its contents hurled right along into thc goods shed. Mr. R. Burtenshaw, a Customs official, and íwo other wharf employees named P. Reynolds and C. Stranks, sustained injurocs of a painful nature, and after receiving . attention from Ambulance-bearer Rheuben they were conveyed to the hospital where they were detained for-further treatment.
