Lyceum Theatre. ; Mr. Grattan Riggs has always been one of the most popular actors in Sydney, and from the hearty welcome accorded him he evidently maintains his reputation. The popularity of the entertainment supplied by the Messrs. McMahon has suffered no diminishment. On Saturday evening the Colleen Bawn was produced. The drama was well staged and the acting good all round.

Our Brisbane Letter. Matters of communal interest have been few and far between of lato, hence my not having contributed for some time. I regret very much having to record the sad death of Mrs. Theodore Lenne berg, which took place early on Tuesday morning Nov. 30th ult. The deceased lady was the third eldest daughter of Mr AlfrAfl .Tnsp.nTi nf T7m*Asf: Tmrlcm SJ-n-rl-naTr and was relatively connected with many Jewish families in New South Wales. She married in Sydney in 1873 and has been resident in Queensland ever since. She was known for her philanthrophy and generosity, her charity being extt nded to all deserving poor, irrespec tive of denomination or creed. In Jewish matters prrticularly she interested herself and was specially instrumental in the formation of The Jewish Ladies' Dorcas Society of which she was President for some time, and took a keen interest in to the time of her death. Just as we go to press the death is announced on December 9th, at Byrock, Ohallis Avenue, Potts Point, of Constance, the beloved wife of Mr. Leopold Barnett, of Wynyard Square. The funeral will leave her late residence on Sunday at 1.15 and the Mortuary at 2.25 p.m. Deep sympathy is expressed with Mr. Barnett and family, in their sad loss, by a large circle of friends in each colony.
