Advertising [Newspaper Article] — Narandera Argus and Riverina Advertiser — 18 June 1895

THEFT ?Was pnhtshed with heavy fines amongst the Jews, and at Athens by death. The Anglo Saxons also condemned to death those who were found guilty of stealing. One of the most glaring caaos of theft occurring in Aus tralasia takes place daily, and that is theft w.wniw cwiu uuio. a mm m\eub some magnificent article of general consumption, and advertise largely at great cost, building up on the merits of the article a famous name. Then thieves attempt to steal it. There are plenty of them to-day who put chcapgin intoempty Wolfe's Schnapps bottles, and palm it off to the public as the genuine and incomparable liquor. That's theft of the worst description^ -\nd should be punished with severity. Sucn mean thieving not ouly injures the well-earned reputation that Wolfe's Schnapps enjoys, but it is deceiving the public, and obtaining money under false pretences.

\:. ?' SUICIDE OF DR. DOBBIN. A sensation was created in town on Thurs day morning, when it was reported that Dr W. Sinclair Dobbin had committed suicide. At first the report seemed incredible (as the doctor on the previous day was apparently 1 in his UBual spiriU), but unfortunately it turned out too true, his corpse having been fo.md in one of tho W.C.'a of the Royal Mail Hotel, about 9.30.. It appears early the same morning he had taken poison, but went aud informed Dr Wait, who promptly applied the usual remedies, with beneficial results. When the unfortunate man resusci tated, he told Dr Watt the reason that prompted him to commit the rash act. The deceased appeared very much upset about' his debts, though trom all accounts, both locally and where he had resided previous to 'coming here, they do no amount to a great deal. Dr. Watt not only offered him solac ing words, but very kindly proffered him monetary assistance. These acts of kindness on the part of Dr. Watt cheered the d...
