t i WEST TENNESSEE. Rat1 leal Convention and Bow ntfefowhs vllle Three Negroes and Two Whites Shot. Memi'ihs, May 14. A bcP'ious riot 'occurred nt Brownsville, Tenn., yes terday, at n "Radical Convention. Three negroes and two whites woro shot, but not fatally. The origin seems to be in the incen diary speeches of a Maj, Sraitlh, wllo is a home Kadical, and a negro man nam ed Carter, who, in his effort to excel his niedecessor in vimlicfiveucss, said that every man who had ever "owned slaves should have liis heart cut out.' This is tho result of tho Radicals en deavoring to poison the (mind, of the negroes against the Southern white people. We learn that ahorse ran away with a I'Uggyi at Salem, in this county, last Saturday. In attempting to "head" the horse, the animal suddenly turned and one ofthe shafts went through his body, killing him Instantly. The horse and buggy belonged to Mr. J. II. Craw Jcy. m "An Affc of License". LET IT BE REMEMBERED THAT EMERSON ETHERIDGE WAS THE UJUL...
