MI|b Balign Mimes. PUnUKHKD KVP.HT TI»TJW!>.\V. Ballax, Tuubsday, May 2S, 1914 | 1 It is a fact that the appeal for funds for the Ballan Caledonian Park is meeting with bat little support. Strangers often ask why it is that Ballan does not snake move progress. Those who have tried to initiate any movement for the advancement of Ballan would say that public support is not forthcoming, you have to beg for any money required, and continue begging. This continues while the workers are fresh—they return to the attack'for a repnlso spurs them on to further efforts, but a time arrives when the most enthusiastic is disheartened and the movainent dies. That is why Ballan does not progress. The Park workers have gone through all these stages but the latter, and unless the 29/ necessary to make up the fiver is forthcoming shortly, wo are afraid the latter stage is in view. The matter rests with the public.
