A HORRIBHLE DEATH. An old man named George Hall, who resided in a hut at Opossum Gully, near Kangaroo Flat, for nearly a score of years, was not seen about his hut as usual for some days, and the circumstance was brought under the notice of Sergeant Wilson, as the man was a very eccentric person. The officer proceeded to the hut, and found the door and window fastened, but he very soon managed to effect an entry by the later, when a horrible night met his gaze. On the floor   lay the dead body of the man, with the lace and body covered with dried-up blood, which had evidently come from the temple, there being a mark there as of a blow. The arms looked as il they had been scorched, and the body was marked very much. The corpse was almost destitute of clothing, the only article covering it being the remains of a shirt, which was rent to pieces. At first it was thought that the old man had been the victim of foul play, but the sergeant believes that he must have died from ...
