Cricket. BAIL "SKYING." IS IT A RECORD? [Newspaper Article] — Nambour Chronicle and North Coast Advertiser — 9 March 1923

Cricket. BAIL 'SKYING.' ! _,, . — — . «? IS IT A RECORD? 'H.O.W.' writes: 'I have seen soma rattling food balls taking the top of the wickels and sending the balls a fair distance, but last Saturday's gamo was ihe 'dizzy limit.'. The ball which P. Pringlc ended Vic. Nash's batting for the afternoon was a 'trimmer.' It was a 'bailer' ball on the 'off' stump, travel line, I reckon, at the speed of about 80 odd nilles per hour. Nash played j inside it :^nd Hie balls up-roolcd a -£jf couple of slumps, sending one ball over , -JO yards. This Is the best I have Been. Thn previous best was during a match wltli a Brisbane team and the Jfambour XI. W. Milliner, the nippy Nambour left-hander, secured the 'boot trick' (four wickets Jn four successive ball), and the bail from the last wicket that fell untfcr his hand, travelled about 30 yards. Surely the batsmen must be out when the balls are removed these distances!'
