Disfrief - - - ? - ? jtfews. ? .0: ? (By Our Owx Correspondent. ) Palmwoods. On Tuesday week last, Mr. H. Fewtrell, son of Mr. G. Fewtrell. of this township, arrived home after having spent a two months' holi day in Sydney. Mr. Fewtrell looks exceptionally well, the trip having evidently agreed with his constitution. On Saturday night, October 17, a public meeting was held for the purpose ot electing a committee to carry out the annual picnic in con nection with the school which is held everj- Boxing Day. The pic nic has proved a success ever since it was inaugurated. Everybody is made welcome, whether they ; come from near or afar. Last year some 250 persons were present, and ''i«?-»yery enjoyable day was spent. Court Doings. Caboolture. At the Caboolture Police Court, on October gth, before Mr. R. A' Rankin, P.M., George Andrews and Robert Drummond pleaded guilty to a charge of wilful destruction of native birds during .close season, and were fined £1 and 3s. 6d. costs of court each, in default seven days' imprisonment. 1 he fines and costs being forthcoming in both instances, the guns were made re turnable. John Farry pleaded guilty of neglecting to send his child, James Farry, to school for 60 day in the hall-year, and was fined is.-, and 3s. 6d. costs ot court, or 6 hours' im prisonment. The fines were paid. A stage carriage license was granted to Wc;lter Teni pieman to ply from Caboolture to Hopetoun.
