STOCK AND STATION CIRCULAR FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER, 1861. [TATTORINT AND CO., IPSWICH] [Newspaper Article] — Rockhampton Bulletin and Central Queensland Advertiser — 18 January 1862
STOCK AND STATION CIBCULAB FOB THE MONTH OF DECEMBEB, 1861. ¡TATTORIST AND CO., IPSWICH ] STATIOKS.-Wo have had several in- j quiries for good pastoral properties, bnt present holders seem disinclined to Bell ont. Large sheep stations in the settled districts can meet with a ready sale. Small stations, carrying from 5000 to 10,000 sheep, are much enquired for, but not procurable. CATTLE.-There is a lair demand for these, but purchasers seem unwilling to speculate, owing to the increase of pleuro-pnenmonia in the Southern dis- tricts of Australia, and the reports of its having occurred and extended into New South Wales renders them fearful lest the disease should spread into this colony. We succeeded, however, in selling 1500 head of young cattle, of equal ages and sexes, and fair proportions, according to schedule, deliverable on the Manning Uiver, at £1 2s. 6d. This figure must not be taken as a basis, and we quote other lots at from 30s. to £2. SHEEP.-The demand for ewes is on the...
